It is worth it i wouldnt trade my v8 for anything and something to remember is the v6 is better mileage but difference is not dramatic compared to the v8. The EPA rated combined mileage of the v6 is 19 and tthe v8 is 16. Car and driver compared the two in their combined driving and managed 17mpg on the v6 and 16mpg on the v8 not a real big difference. The reason they gave was the v6 had to work a lot harder to push around the porkey 5200lbs. Mileage is very driver dependant so you will read stuff all over the map on this.

The v6 in 2016 is under going an upgrade that should improve mileage some hopefully that will make the mileage difference more between the two. If you can put up with the new stop/start system lol

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

my average is 14 right now. It goes up when it runs on the highway but that's not very often. The jeep is very heavy and it takes fuel to get it going.

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

Yeah, it doesn't matter what car it is with a gas engine, if you're driving in harsh city conditions any car will have poor fuel economy. If a vehicle is spending most of its fuel either stopped or accelerating its just not possible for it to be efficient. So unfortunately it's not gonna get better, but even if you got the V6 it would be poor as well.

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

I get about 15MPG so far at 900 miles on my 2015 with the 5.7, but I have been a bit heavy on the accelerator. When out on the highway I am seeing about 21-23MPG at 65 MPH.
