Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

It would be more of back country roads
average drive to work is about half hour 55mph maybe 4 or 5 stops on the way

You will get responses all over the map its very driver dependant. I usually get mixed highway/city mileage of 17-18 mpg in the 5.7. Highway only cruising you can get up around 24-25 mpg if you keep speed reasonable. Going as slow as 55 mph like you are talking about the MDS will be on a good bit of the time and you may break over 25. Thats cruising mpg, mix in stop snd go and that will drag it down. Also using your ACC when highway cruising helps keep MDS on more and you mpg up

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

Today's fillup was 17.2mpg, prior to that was 17.7mpg. These are hand calculated figures using my fuely app. I have 2500 miles on my Summit and that driving consists of NO highway, just far suburban driving to and from work.

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

Wow, I'm not seeing anywhere near those numbers. I'm glad to hear maybe it will get a little better. I have a very new, only 500 miles so far , Summit and have filled up twice. 13.8 and 14.1. It is all city miles. Probably the longest freeway stretch so far has only been about 25 miles. I hope I get what you guys are getting once it gets a little broken in.

If you are driving all citymiles you wont, v8s are just not that good in all city driving. All highway can be very good as the v8 drops down to 4 cylinder mode a lot.

Mileage will generally improve a little after the first few thousand miles so you shouldsee some improvement but dont expect a lot from all city driving with a porkey 5200lb suv like this.

Re: Gc summit 5.7 mpg

I figured as much but I thought the V8 was worth the gas mileage trade off. Can't wait to get it out on the road and see how it does.
