To answer the "do you have to cut the stock pipes" question .Yes and no.The driver side resonator unbolts via a nice flange so you can put it back on but the other side must be cut off and you would slip your replacement unit's pipe into the original and clamp it.

That's not good news. I'm starting to think the only way to avoid drone is keep it stock

No,the things I did were at a muffler shop like replacing the resonators with a straight pipe, then adding glass pack mufflers in their place, then installing a Magnadrone system, then replacing that with the Corsa. Then I gave up.I got some of my money back from a sale to a friend who put the Magna flow on his 6cylinder WK2 and it works very well.I'm thinking about trading for a new Altitude 2012,or waiting for 2014 which from what I gather from this site won't be all that long.

That's sucks to hear that even the expensive Corsa drones. I'll never forget the drone on my old mustang with Flowmaster super 40's....that used to drive me crazy!

I had Gibson cat-back on a SUV of mine....absolutely no drone ! Loved it !
I also went through a flowmaster and magnaflow before trying out the gibson.

So you already have the Gibson setup? How is it?

You guys probably already know this but a simple slap of your shifter to the left turns MDS off
Yes you have to do it every time but it's simple and easy and not much of a big deal imo

Re: Gibson is now in the game with an axle back exhaust

I have the Corsa system and actually did a pretty extensive video review of it. It's somewhere in the performance exhaust/intakes here. I have no complaints with it. No droning for me. Sounds pretty much like the stock system when MDS kicks in and you aren't on the gas. Get on the gas and it sounds great! Especially when you are approaching the red line...

It's pricey, but worth it IMO.

Re: Gibson is now in the game with an axle back exhaust

Hey guys -

I called and placed my order for the Gibson system today. According to Robert they should be here in a week or so. Once they arrive, ill take some pics and keep you posted.

Also, stay tuned for sound clips of both exterior and interior.

-James

[QUOTE=HYTEK;689726]What SUV did you have it on?

I had it on a 2006 Trailblazer SS...I left a sound clip earlier in the tread of me revving it....sorry nothing while riding...but I was going crazy with the drone from the other two until I put the Gibson on and never looked back. it was perfect.
