I find it funny how these trolls comment on cars they do not own and probably never even sat in.

Wtf every issue the '14 has had has been recognized by Chrysler and they issued a recall and a couple tsbs. Other than that, I'd say the 14 GCs are relatively bulletproof. Aren't RRs known for being dealer queen nightmares?

Where's does their reliability come into play here anyways? I thought it was about speed.

IMO, if you're paying a 100k +/- it shouldn't have a reputation for being pretty on a tow truck.

Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

don't get me wrong...the new RR sport is awesome! But $105K awesome? No way. JMO. But we could careless that our SRT's don't go offroad.....SRT is STREET RACING TECHNOLOGY!

Funny you talk about comparing apples to apples, but you compared the air suspension of the Range to an ORA1 package for the GC.

And I am sorry are your SRTs stock???? We are talking stock right off the dealer showroom. If it isnt stock than there is a 700hp tuner version available just to make things fair.

What would be interesting is to 0-60mph or 0 to100kph on dirt in both vehicles.

Has a 2014 gone up Pikes Peak? Might ant to compare its time to the RR Sport.

Sorry boys you need to compare Apples and Apples and not apples and limes and Cherries and tomatoes.

Someone will do a comparison soon 2014 GC SRT, 2014 RR Sport V8, AMG GL63, X5Sport 5.0 and Audi Q5. Its a natural. Bet its already been done and just waiting publication.

GC SRT8 is a nice SUV. I haven't driven the 2014 but I have driven 2014 RR Sport V8 both on off road and on terrain my 2012 GC sees weekly. A SRT, X5, and Q5 cant go as far off road and RR Sport was more controlled off road than my GC with the ORA I package. RR's air suspension is at least a generation ahead of Jeep's off road. On road Rr is few years ahead. I have driven a 2012 GC SRT. 2012 SRT would have issues going cross the fields and valleys I cross. My V6 GC is better balanced than the SRT chasing apexes.

Best of all 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are probably more reliable than entire 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee line. Notice this excludes the LR4, Evoque and LR2.

Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

Pikes Peak and The Race to Clouds would be a perfect showcase for GC SRT. race has only been going on for 90+ years. Unsers, Andretti all raced there.
Happens every July and the road has been completely paved since 2011???

WRC teams race there. Shame that today Pikes Peak is bigger in the UK and the EU than here in the US. Wasnt always the case.

Sorry isnt it Street and Racing Technology not Street Racing Technology. Steet Racing Technology would get it in trouble with the NHRA.

All the problems issues fixed or resolved??? Really read this forum with unresolved water leaks, trannie problems, bad shocks, etc. gives the impression that Jeep still hasnt fixed everything like cylinder heads in the V6.

How is SRT doing in big time racing? Only big time racing they are doing well in is the NHRA in Pro Stock and Funny Car. They just got back into ALMS and had one win in 2013 in GT. SRT is no AMG or BMW Motorsport or even Chevy Racing. Shame SRT doesn't have an entry downunder in the Aussie V8 Supercars.

SRT should have entered a GC SRT team in "The Dakar" in Jan 2014. Would be a perfect showcase for SRT and GC SRT. Shame Robbie Gordon defected to GM. He would have been the perfect driver for SRT in GC SRT in "The Dakar". A good result would help SRT's image big time overseas.

Maybe one day the GC SRT will be able to perform both on and off road like its biggest competitor.

Difference in price is why a RR Sport can go both on and off road while a GC SRT8 is limited to the street.

You boys and girls have fun looking for trolls under your beds and in your closets you hear!

Does the SRT definition mean anything to you? Street Racing Technology. So yeah that's probably the definition in price, that and the RR has a super lux interior and is not American. Apples to oranges almost wouldn't you say?

Lads your Range Rover envy is showing better check your zippers!

Since I didnt hit all the option boxes difference in price between GC SRT8 I configured and RR Sport is about $15K. Scott I am probably saving money since I wouldnt need a JK for off road.

If I was going to get a Range Rover I think I would go old school and get a restored and repowered Defender 110 from East Coast Rover to haul my dogs. I like my slow V6 2012 GC.

Just think maybe one day SRT will be mentioned in the same breath as M and AMG or even Ecoboost. Doubtful but could happen if and when Ferrari wins a Drivers Championship in F1 again.

One more time its Street and Racing Technology. Chrysler would get fried in the Mainstream press if SRT stood for Street Racing Technology. And even if it stood for Street Racing Technology stock Shelbys, 302s, Z28s, Camaros and Vettes would spank anything stock from SRT except maybe the Viper until the new Z06 or ZR 1 hit the streets.

Since Jeep is owned by Fiat and some of the parts for Jeeps come from Mexico is it still American?? New 8spd slushbox was developed by ZF a German company. The current GC is really a ML. So with a German gearbox
and chassis that is German is the GC really American?
