It gets better after the first 1500-2000 miles. I'm looking forward to a custom tune!

My Infiniti QX blows my '12 Hemi out of the water. Crazy that a bus that big blows the doors off my JGC.

I have been thinking about test driving a 5.7 with the 8-speed but was waiting for the 390HP version to be released in the G.C first (hint hint Chrysler)

I don't believe this is happening in production version.

Why not just have it tuned yourself?

I have seen a RAM program run on the 5.7 in the Jeep. You are correct though warranty is an issue in this case.

Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

We drove the 14 V6 Overland first, I was looking to save a $ and I personally like the more youthful look of the Overland (although the Summit is growing on me).

My wife saw the Summit peaking around the corner and ogled over the trim, the salesman says "now this one is the V8 and it's loaded" she replies but this one looks much nicer to me. Her response after pulling the Summit off the lot was and I quote "now thats what i'm talk'n about". She said the V6 just felt a lot heavier and the HEMI was more balanced. The Jeep is tasked to be the "Work horse" and provide us with the ability to tow cars to and from the race track, perform as a real 4x4 and now with the HEMI a travel trailer has been added to the wish list.

To qualify my wife who has never been about the spec sheet (no matter how many times I recite them), has had as her daily driver, 02 RSX type S, 04 Mazda Speed3 (still her fav), 08 Audi S4, and now a Audi A3 TDI for commuting and utility. Before you ask she loves the 43mpg, hates the diesel stations and the torque is the only redeeming driving value.

P.S. just because they are everywhere in my town... My stock 3.0 Supercharged 13 A6 kicks the S*#t out of infinities all day every day. Dominating off the line and through every gear. Just say'n

The difference between the Ram and a Jeep is not the program. The Jeep has a smaller engine bay. Because of this it uses a more restrictive intake and exhaust. If that's all it was, any aftermarket tuner would be able to get over 400hp on a jeep with no other mods. The best way to compensate is to help the exhaust and intake breath better. A tune will help it even more.
