My 14' overland hemi spins the tires sometimes from 1 to 2nd I was surprised it even spun the tires from a stopped position. I'm thinking there was sand or something on the road. But if I have it in sport mode and go about 10 mph then mash it it will chirp first to second sometimes I'll try to video tape it next time. The road is asphalt and newly paved so I'm sure that helps. Either way is fast enough for me considering it's a 4x4 5000 pound true suv

Evolv0 is just really nice
Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

Lol I actually spin my wheels from a stop all the time... surprises me every time also.

I have yet to put it in sport mode or use the paddle shifters.. then again I only have 2k on my truck and I do LOVE the power the motor out puts and the smooth shifting of the 8 speed tranny.

No comment on the racing because I haven't done any myself in this thing, nor floored it more then 5 times.

I just ordered the AFE intake, I wanna hear this baby growl.

Can't wait to receive my '14 JGC Limited Hemi in about a week!

It's replacing my '09 Acura TL SHAWD that goes off lease in Dec. Loved the TL. Unstoppable in the winter and spanked the hell out of a Maxima (not current model but one before it) a few weeks ago. The Acura 3.7L engine with 305hp was a sweetheart. Not a lot of torque but loved to sing.

Don't sweat getting thumped by an Explorer Sport ( jacked up Taurus) a coworker has one and has been nothing but trouble. One was taken back by the dealer and the other has been a pia as well. Might be fast but will likely break down around the next turn lol.

Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

I sat in a 2014 Explorer at the recent OC Auto Show - there is no place for my left foot in that thing based on an old Volvo design, despite it being much wider than the grand Cherokee and Durango.

Re: Got demolished by a Ford Explorer Sport

Those things are surprisingly fast 0-60 in 5.9 seconds thats nothing to laugh at. Lol I used to laugh at the commercial on the radio when the woman would say "I love my new ford explorer with the ecoboost engine, when I step on the gas it goes", until I looked up its stats.

Scott your jeep is 25k more than his soccer mobile, its really not a fair comparison.

Oh yes it is....

Wonder what a good set of headers, low restriction catalysts and mufflers, air kit, and tuning chip for the 5.7 would do. Dunno if the new series hemi responds as well as the old 426's used to when better breathing was available, as the engine is inherently a good breather.

[and wonder what spousal attitudes would be concerning some practical research on this issue]

Explorer Sport was trying to play with me. Sorry that's Eco-Crap doesn't have anything on the 6.4!

Find an Ecoboost that's tuned and I bet it will give you a run for your money.

The 2012-2013 JGC SRT can go 0-60 in the low 4 second range, and the 2014 can do it in under 4 (Scott got 3.7). There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that an EcoBoost, even tuned, can get anywhere near an SRT.
