Having trouble finding parts.

I have a 2014 overland with a lot of chrome. I have called mopar parts and other companies to find a way to replace the chrome. The answer I have is i need to get the vin number of a black overland that doesn't have chrome so they can match the numbers. I am looking to replace all the chrome from the front bumper and grill to side mirrors to window trim and anything else.
I am starting to believe the only way is to paint or wrap it. Am I correct or can some one head me in the right direction.

Thank you

Walk into a dealer with a summit or overland in jet black. Take your phone out and snap the vin from under the carpet cut out near the seat, or various other places. The spares department only use vin to look for parts. Stupid if a system.

Re: Having trouble finding parts.

I'm pretty certain all Overlands came with chrome trim as standard so a VIN from another Overland will not help you. You need to get a VIN from a Laredo if you want color matched parts like mirrors and handles. It's going to be much more cost effective to paint/wrap the trim. I'm in the same boat with my '12 Overland.

Re: Having trouble finding parts.

Actually the VIN from an "Altitude Edition" will have many blacked-out OEM parts to choose from. And the front HID headlights and rear taillight trim from obtained from the VIN of an SRT are blacked-out and could be swapped with chrome OEM parts from other trim levels. "Trailhawk Edition" VIN's would give you some body color painted parts that are chrome on other non SRT trim levels.

Keep in mind different model years have different chromed and blacked-out OEM parts and many times these do not interchange with other model years. Most '11~'13 parts are interchangeable, but after that only parts from the '14's & '15's WK2's may interchange with each other.
