Hey All
I recently ordered a new 2013 GC Altitude w/ the Hemi. I'm waiting until I actually have it and driving it everyday before I start ordering other parts (CAI, PTB, etc), but I want to try to get the exhaust picked out so I can get it on as soon as possible. I noticed it was very quiet on the test drive and that isn't going to work for me
My wife drives a 2007 Dodge Ram w/ the 5.7 and we had a Magnaflow muffler put on it and it's great. Her truck has MDS on it and when it kicks on, the sound doesn't bother me too much, so I don't think drone will be a problem for me (if I'm understanding drone correctly)
I think I want a cat back system instead of just a muffler since I might be able to get a tiny bit of extra performance out of it (especially when a tuner comes out).
So far I have been researching Corsa, Borla, Dynomax and Magnaflow cat back setups. I'm having a hard time picking from these 4 systems which one will sound like what I'm after. This is going to be my new DD so I want something aggressive/loud, but nothing that is going to get me pulled over for being too loud. I live in the Bay Area so there are plenty of CHP around. I'm also trying to make sure whatever I get is 50 state legal because I plan on keeping this Jeep as long as possible and will eventually be smogging it (like my current 2000 GC)
I'm not a big fan of the Corsa from what I've seen because it seems very quite at idle and low speed/acceleration. Can anyone with those setups chime in with opinions? I've been lurking around the board for about a week now as well as youtube, etc trying to find a clear winner.
Sorry for the long post, just want to make sure I do it right from the start and not end up with something disappointing.
Thanks!
