Thanks. I was actually 1 of the pioneers of the hemi performance scene for the trucks starting back in 03 when they first came out. I was only the 2nd hemi truck to break into the 13's, and eventually has it running 12.90's N/A on street tires. I have known Sean since he first started tuning these motors, so I'm excited to see what he can do with the Jeep. The wife doesn't want me to mod it, but since I make the payments, I am gonna play with it a little myself...haha. Catch can, Ported TB, and Tuner are going in next week. I'm still stuck on whether I want to modify the exhaust though because I like how quiet and comfortable this car is.

Hemi450HP You seem like a good person to ask this. I'm pretty much like you. Not really interested in an exhaust system right now, but I've got a cai system and now I'll be working with Sean for tuning. But I want to know if you think that a ported throttle body is worth the trouble and money.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Absolutely. I actually own a Hemi Ram Performance shop, and we are seeing a consistent 8-12hp gain on the 85mm TB's with basic boltons, and 12-15hp gains on the heavily modded guys with longtubes and proper tuning. For a mod that is so easy to install, it is well worth it IMO. A properly ported TB will show a nice bump in throttle response as well as that 8-15hp gain across the board depending on your other mods.

Equally as important as the TB is having a catch can installed. The PCV system on these VVT motors pumps a lot of oil back into the intake manifold. This oil will not only buildup on your intake runners and throttle body, but it will also mix with your fuel in the intake manifold which lowers the overall octane rating of your fuel. When you add a performance tune that increases timing, the last thing you want is a lower grade fuel. Having the catch can will help prevent detonation and allow you to get the most out of the tune. This is the reason why I have not installed the Trinity yet. I have plenty of them in the shop, but I want to get that catch can on there first.

Is the catch can also an issue on the v6? I can't seem to get BT to make one. I brought my jeep up there to have it fitted back in April but nothing yet.

To be honest, I am not sure about the V6. The Pentastar is fairly new for the truck models, and there is absolutely no aftermarket support for that motor on the trucks. As long as the 3.6 has an external PCV system, it should be easy to install the standard Billet Tech can under the hood. You would just need to build a mounting bracket for it. I will try to look into this for you though.

Ok...I got the 91 octane canned tune installed and I gotta tell you guys, there are major differences already...from start up to idle to WOT...the GC seems quicker. This week Ill install a ported TB from Fastman and an updated tune from Sean.. Really looking forward to it too!

Put the Hemifever 91 tune in today...clocked two 0-60 runs...7.44 and 7.41. The last mod for a while gets installed in a few days. That would be a ported TB. After that I'll log some stuff Sean hss asked for and he'll tweak it a little more.
All in all...I was surprised at just how slow the 13 GC is...I've seen so many docs showing 6.xx second 0-60 times. Horse hockey! My first times were over 8 seconds!
Wasn't even concerned with speed when I bought the GC...but now I'm obsessed!
Shudda jus bought an SRT and been done with it

7.4 is all the better I'm getting with Sean's 93 tune as well. When I stomp the accelerator at 60 it makes me smile and that's all I care about. Before Sean's tune jeep really struggled to down shift and pass, now its smooth as butter.

Definitely! The beast is definitely lighter feeling now and more responsive. And I know better...I just get caught up in this mod thing and I gotta stop....My bathrooms need to be remodeled... (Or so I'm told)

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Its hard to stop once you get bit by the mod bug. I used to be into the car stereo and car show scene. Then I made the mistake of taking my truck to the dragstrip. The next day, I sold all my audio equipment and went straight to Performance. I have not looked back once. Going fast is just so much more fun.

There's also no cure for the mod bug. Once you catch it, you have it for life! LOL
