Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

No dyno chart yet. I have to find an AWD dyno. You used to be able to disconnect the driveshaft and put the jeep on a regular dyno. This statement was made by the CMR tuner. My butt dyno tells me it sounds about right.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Ordered the intune dcx from hemifevertuning. Sean is shipping it out today and already sent me basic instructions to send him my info for him to tune once i've installed the stock tunes.

He did mention thathe recommends to switch to a 180 degree tstat, anyone else done this?

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

This information gets me interested in a tuner but I'm confused about MPG. I'm already suffering here in So Cal with lame city driving MGP, and while I don't expect MPG gains, I don't want to lose any more. Installed the Hypertech harness and pleased with throttle response and MPG doesn't seem affected. Never understood how improved perfomance with a tuner could come with better MPG as some advertise, and recently saw someone on the forum selling their Intune because of the significant decrease in MGP. Anyone offer any thoughts on how much MPG you can expect to lose, or is there actually a way to get better MPG and power? Seems counterintuitive. Thx.

My personal experience was that the diablo tune canned 87 tune actually reduced my MPG's by 2. I was not happy. As it turned out when I used my 89 tune from hemifevertuning.com they went back to factory results but with incredible improvements in shifting and all around power vs the diablo tune.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Here's my 0.02. The custom tune is not what hurts your mpg. The car shifts better, doesn't struggle looking for gears and the throttle response is greatly improved. Now, with all that said.......stepping on the pedal a bit more BECAUSE of the tune is what gets you in trouble and lowers mpg. I have a custom tune and I fill up once a week. I do 90% city driving during my work week. I'm happy with that.

Thank you both. Wish I could drive a car with this tuner and see how much better it feels than my hypertech interceptor. Must say I'm quite pleased with the harness, but am guessing a custom tune is much better.

60hp is extremely wishful thinking for the mods listed. You're not taking the 5.7 to 420hp with just an intake, tune, TB, and cat-back; I don't care what the tuner says.

This makes sense to me. I've had to go WOT on occassion just to get the power I need...I am sure that takes quite a bit more gas than if the tranny held gears a bit longer.

I am mainly looking for the improved throttle response and shifts, if there are increases in power, cool. I find that the Hemi puts out enough power, it's just not used nearly as effectively as it could be.

The one question I do have...does the tuning have the same impact in all of the selec-terrain settings? I drive around quite a bit in "sport" and am wondering if I will see the same improvements in that setting as "auto"...anyone have an answer?

It has no effect on the Select Terrain. It is a separate module within the tune.

That doesn't quite answer the question, but thank you. Looks like my Intune should be here tomorrow as it as at the sorting center about 30 miles away

Looking forward to playing with it myself.

The select terrain operates the same. There is no effect on it whatsoever. Your tune works in all settings.
