Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

The diablo tune that somes with the trinity 87,91,or 93 only works in auto mode. As soon as you turn the dial and put it in sport or snow or whatever. it's back to stock.. I really feel a big difference from auto to sport, as if sport mode is my original stock setting.

Thanks to both of you.

Dizz: You notice that the hemifever tune actually improves performance in all settings?

Damien: Thanks for that info...I'm hoping that the hemifever tune as mentioned above does apply the improvements in all settings. I do really like the bit of lowering when in sport mode along with the improved performance.

I'd hate to lose the benefits of the tune because I like Sport mode.

I think what he's asking is if the setting for each Select Terrain option still operates as it would without the tune. For example, does the transmission still start in 2nd gear in the 'Snow' setting?

That's closer in line to what i'm interested in. As an example, Auto mode is a bit sluggish and shifts early and doesn't like to hold gears, it's set up purely for fuel economy. Sport holds gears longer, is more responsive.

Will this still be the case with the tunes installed? Auto will still be less aggressive than sport? Although both will see an improvement in responsiveness and shifting?

Or is it like Damien stated and that all of the benefits of the Tune will only be realized while in Auto.

I hope that helps clarify my question.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

I love the sport mode setting where the front end lowers a bit and 30/70 ratio or something like that for the back axle. Ideally what I would want and once I get my exhaust and CAI installed i'm going to send my log to diablo and Request if I could have different settings ( sports mode aggressive sports shifting and more horespower, and then in auto mode MPG fuel saver.) Don't get me wrong diablo trinity get more out of the hemi. But with a little bit of programming from the diablo boys, i'm sure we could unleash a real beast or a decent fuel economy ride.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Well my intune-dcx is in. I plan to load the diablo tunes later then pull the logs and send to Sean at hemifever. Ive gotta take the Jeep in tomorrow to have them look at replacing one of my side views, and will be reverting to stock after work tonight. Will probably take it for a spin after work to see how the diablo 87 octane tune feels (have a full tank of 87).

Update: Loaded the 87 tune and drove around a bit and left it in auto. It definitely drove far better than stock and there was no longer that annoying upshift that killed power when taking turns. I can't say I noticed any improvement in power but I figured this would be the case with the 87 tune. The driveability is definitely improved but it still suffers from a very delayed downshift when you are trying to get on it...it's abrupt and you never know when it's going to happen. Looking forward to what Sean can do.

Also, his tunes are not already on the tuner, unless it's different for the Trinity. He sent me a standard intune dcx and asked that I load one of the Diablo tunes. I then send him the last tune written and he will then modify the tune to get me the most out of it.

You will notice an instant downshift with Sean's Tune.

Add me to the list of very satisfied Hemifever Tuning customers. I loaded Sean's 89 tune last night, and holy crap what a difference it made. I was previously running Diablo's canned 91 tune. I won't re-hash what others have already said, so in short: get a custom tune. Whether it's Sean's, Johan's, your local speed shop´s, etc. As long as they know what they're doing you'll find that it is money very well spent.

For $125 bucks you can't not get it, plus he'll tweak it once you send him a datalog.

Re: Hemifevertuning.com using Diablosport Trinity

Anyone run a Johan custom tune yet for the WK2? How do you guys think Johan's custom tune will compare to Sean's?

Thanks for the input here, looking forward to this one.

Sean's turnaround time is quite impressive. Sent him my last tune written late last night and when I woke up today I had the 89 and 91 tunes in my inbox. Sadly, I have nearly a full tank of 87 in the car and will need to burn through at least half a tank, then fill up with 91 to get me to 89 octane. I guess i'll be rocking the Diablo tune until then.

After I spend some time with the 89 tune, I plan to fill up with 91 at the following tank, do some data logging, send back to Sean and get some added juice out of the Hemi.

I actually find myself running in normal mode now lol, it is so responsive but yes, it still lowers in Sport mode. There are different parameters that Sean tunes, but it does't deal with the suspension or Select Terrain. You'll just see an increase in performance and shifting. The differential settings are not effected on the Select Terrain.
