I now realize I'm just another guy with a V8 that drank the Kool-Aid.
Love the truck but I now understand my limits and what it can't do.
Your run-of-the-mill modified turbocharged Subaru would spank your Hemi day after day, every day, every time, every time of the day ...yay ...yay...
Against a run-of-the-mill modified turbocharged Subaru (or not even modified, just factory turbocharged), the mighty Hemi has to contend with nearly 2000 extra pounds and garage door aerodynamics. A stock STI does 0-60 mph in 5 seconds (4.8 to 5.1 being official numbers, which vary by year). A stock Forester XT does 0-60 in some 6.2 seconds which is nearly half a second faster than a stock Hemi Grand Cherokee [source
For $500 dollars and a simple ECU re-calibration, the Forester and its mighty CVT will be unthinkably unreachable to your Hemi and even gain 1-2 mpg over factory specs.
And mods for mods, including supercharging the Hemi, there is nothing you can do to gain as much performance as you get by modifying any BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Subaru or any other factory supercharged or turbocharged cars.
The moral is that there will always be a faster car than you that comes like that from the factory. And we are not talking exotics just turbo- and super-charged V6 and V8 offerings from the Germans.
