Pretty tough comparing a naturally aspirated engine to a turbo'd one. Put the Ripp S/C on in and I'm guessing the Ford gets munched. I'm also guessing that little 2.0 doesn't do so well against the Jeep past 50 mph.

Off the jump its fun.. 0-40 i think is where its best at.. It starts tapering off after that.. After 112 it goes into a crawl so definitely wont be banging with any of the big boys.. Like everyone else stated its not why you really chose to go with a summit or any other model down bc if speed was a priority you got the wrong breed of hemi lol

Love the truck but I now understand my limits and what it can't do.

Your run-of-the-mill modified turbocharged Subaru would spank your Hemi day after day, every day, every time, every time of the day ...yay ...yay...

Against a run-of-the-mill modified turbocharged Subaru (or not even modified, just factory turbocharged), the mighty Hemi has to contend with nearly 2000 extra pounds and garage door aerodynamics. A stock STI does 0-60 mph in 5 seconds (4.8 to 5.1 being official numbers, which vary by year). A stock Forester XT does 0-60 in some 6.2 seconds which is nearly half a second faster than a stock Hemi Grand Cherokee [source].

For $500 dollars and a simple ECU re-calibration, the Forester and its mighty CVT will be unthinkably unreachable to your Hemi and even gain 1-2 mpg over factory specs.

And mods for mods, including supercharging the Hemi, there is nothing you can do to gain as much performance as you get by modifying any BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Subaru or any other factory supercharged or turbocharged cars.

The moral is that there will always be a faster car than you that comes like that from the factory. And we are not talking exotics just turbo- and super-charged V6 and V8 offerings from the Germans.

» Jeep Grand Cherokee 0-60 1/4 mile fuel economy

According to this website 14.3 in the 1/4. That's pretty respectable. Not sure if thats 2wd or 4wd. Based on the numbers it's almost as fast as my wifes g37.

I know on the highway my jeep feels faster than the g37.

Re: How fast do you think your Hemi is?

My '13 feels pretty slow off the line but then picks up pretty well. It's most fun from a rolling 10mph or so. But, it is great for the camper so I'm not complaining at all.

Re: How fast do you think your Hemi is?

The V8 in my F-150 used to be pretty formidable, but I've got a 6 in my GC so I know I'm not beating anyone off the line except soccer moms.

On the other hand, I have to laugh at all the tuner cars that try to take me on my bike. It weighs less than 500 pounds with a 4 cylinder engine and a 10K red line. I can hit close to 60MPH in first gear in about 3 seconds and still have 5 more gears to go. It has more horsepower than either of my first two 4 cylinder cars.

I don't make a habit of such foolishness, but sometimes you have to remind people that a turbo and big spoiler on the trunk doesn't make you faster than a vehicle that will spank you in the power to weight ratio. In the end, you're still driving a Civic...

Why on earth would someone think they could beat a bike of the line.

I took my brothers for a toot around the neighborhood a few years back. Scary fast. Kawi 850 rocket.

Too many kids today don't have a clue. They have no idea about what makes a vehicle fast.

Too many have no idea what makes a vehicle go, no less go fast.
