I can hit close to 60MPH in first gear in about 3 seconds and still have 5 more gears to go. It has more horsepower than either of my first two 4 cylinder cars.

I don't make a habit of such foolishness, but sometimes you have to remind people that a turbo and big spoiler on the trunk doesn't make you faster than a vehicle that will spank you in the power to weight ratio. In the end, you're still driving a Civic...

Yoo im reading this and im dying laughin bc its true.. People want to go against you in anything i think you just got laugh at some.. Lol but true story i seen a civic smoke a bike in atco years ago so dont sleep lol.. Now we are talking straight line no turns .. 04R1 vs a 92-95 built 2.0 block with a 40r turbo.. Dude ( bike owner) was talking shit for so long and it finally went down.. He was scared to pop that clutch though.. A real biker ran the civic just so it didnt look bad after the owner embarrassed himself lol. Civic was hittin mid to low 9s.. It was big thing then lol.. R1 with that good rider was hittin mid-low 10s. Thats how you know the owner sucked bc he was off by almost a second.. Anyways it is funny though how many people think they have a chance against a bike.. Power/weight ratio #facts annnnd a good driver lol

Not for nothing ive been on alot of different forums for different cars and bikes and i have to say this jeep forum has the best group of people by far.. Everyone is real cool and friendly here.. Top gear is the best car show ever (not the american version though lol) i heard there going to try to start it up again if clarkson can hatch it out with one of the executives.. Anyways i love my jeep and my 0-40 fun lol

One of my pet pieves; "quick" not "fast" should be used in the context of this threadů. 😊

Also, the gearing in the V8 is much taller (for fuel economy benefits) than the V6. With the same gearing, the difference would be more. I think both drive trains are pretty well designed.

I had mine (E46 M3) well over a decade before I finally sold it to get my current ride! The M was not particularly quick from the stop light, but once it gets going at the higher RPMs, its a different story. I do miss it in a way.

Re: How fast do you think your Hemi is?

No matter what kind of power upgrades we do to the Jeep, it cannot fully compensate for its bloated weight. There are not much options or real solutions when it comes to weight reduction.

Hemi or V-6, the Grand Cherokee is too heavy and not designed for fast acceleration from a dead stop.

However when in the right gear and 50+ MPH it is fast, even to the Tesla who couldn't pull away from me!

Really- not with the current Tesla S P85D- there's no chance in hell unless that person can't drive for beans.
