Well...I paid 6300$ for the stage 1 kit

Then I installed a couple gauges and a custom pod..add some custom tuning and I found myself over $10,000 into it ..I did change a few things along the way including plugs and custom exhausts etc..

Then I bought the stage 2 kit used for $5,000...add about $1,000 for install and custom tuning so far...then add $900 for the fuel pump voltage booster and $950 for the srt fuel pump and install

Add about $300 for the pulley/belt and install for the boost increase ..then a little more for various tune issues and part replacements etc..

I can't even begin to guess how many troubleshooting visits I've made that involved a couple hundred here and there

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing I'm getting close to the $20,000 mark with supercharging and tuning and upgrades etc...

Not sure I'd agree with this comment

This has been about 10 months of constant tweaking so far

This cost is just for the supercharger setup..if you count up total investment..it doesn't make sense ..I've been through several sets of wheels and tires on this jeep(on my 5th set now)and made several other upgrades like brembos..suspension etc...srt headlights..went through a few sets of these...srt body kit ..etc..

Like I said before ..should have just bought the damn srt

hmm yeah 20k is getting up there, I agree SRT would have probably cost around what you have into the jeep and upgrades but still it is good to see the v6 putting that much HP out. The thing that may concern me a little would be not as much now but a year or two from now how the engine and trans will hold up. Maybe enjoy it and have fun with it for a while but then trade it on an SRT before you have any major failures. It is a cool setup you have there though.

Thanks man..Its been a hassle but it's also been fun because no one ever expects a v6 jeep to be this fast ..I've raced a lot of v8 jeeps and even srt's and when I beat them they get really offended ..

As I mentioned before..this has always just been a short term experiment..I just need this thing to last long enough for the hellcat jeep to come out ..

Otherwise I'll be forced to buy an srt and supercharge that

I think if I go down the srt route I'd prefer to build the lower end up and turbo it

Someone here on the srt forum has a pretty sweet 426ci turbocharged setup..that's what my next one would be ..or just wait for the trackhawk

Re: How much power you think the 3.6L pentatstar is capable of?

OK....so I have put together a new plan going forward...definitely not the best plan but i'm in so deep that I really want to see this through

I just spoke with Zach at 505performance and we are going to build a custom 3.6L engine that will be built specifically for boost ...using forged internals etc..Forged Pistons..custom ground cams etc...

The plan is to build this thing to RELIABLY handle a full 13+ LBS of boost

I am also in the process of sourcing a stronger Torque converter and Transmission to go behind this new setup-

I'm pretty sure my stock block is about at the end of its rope after all the abuse I've put it through ...so I am just going to go the custom route.

Its going to take a couple months to get the custom Engine built...but stay tuned and I'll be posting updates as they come...

Yeah sounds like it will be done right that will help with getting max power and long term reliability. This should turn out really good.

Re: How much power you think the 3.6L pentatstar is capable of?

Well....I got my answer on the health of my 3.6l this afternoon

Driving home ..hit a little boost followed by a loud pop and then some really awful sounds and a boatload of smoke

The engine detonated completely
Oil everywhere and metal parts everywhere ..I'm just having it towed home now but I'm guessing I blew something pretty substantial out the side of the block from what I can see

Now I guess I really need a custom motor build!

Damn. Saw that coming but damn. Stock pistons and rods can't take much detonation. U throw a rod threw the block?

Not sure yet as its not yet home..but there were some very large chunks of metal caught in the front skid plate

With the amount of oil it was burning and size of the metal
Parts I'm sure whatever happened is the death of this block ..time to try accelerating the custom engine build
