Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Dslide have you noticed any pick up in MPG's or have you had your foot into it too much to tell? I know so far it's going to take me a little while to log MPG's, I'm having to much fun

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Going on more than a month with the hypertech on and can say one bad thing about it. Highway response is inproved, off the line in sport mode get loose at times which I enjoy.
Ran a 0-60 test and nailed 6.3 beat my non hypertech tome of 6.8 . Not a bad product for the money.

By "real", I meant an independent test. I do not believe in dynos posted by manufacturers. I'm glad this device works. I have no proof or data otherwise. Just based on looks alone (a bunch of harnesses connected to black boxes), it "looks" like snake oil. Apparently the Charger crowd like this device as well.

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

I will admit I thought it was pretty cheesy myself, plug and play harness with no ECM tuning. I thought it was a joke, until I read some feed back. To me Hypertech was never on my list of companies for tuning, but after reading reviews I decided to try it out. I think the thing that sold me on it, was 1. the reviews 2. the fact that I still have a while until my warranty runs out, so I like the fact that I didnt have to program the ECM which if a stealership checked could tell it had been tuned.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but if I had to take it in for engine/transmission issues under warranty and unplugged the device it should be un-detectable correct?

Wish I could say I've seen improvement with MGP, but not yet. Part of it is that I don't drive to the same place everyday-conditions are always different with traffic, etc., and the other part is that I'm still having too much fun stepping on the gas. I'll try to get my arms around any MPG improvement soon.

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Thanks for all the feedback. Can any of you comment on if this device messes with the MDS or the Select Terrain? Like does snow mode still work like it should?

It does not mess with MDS nor select terrain. The thing is if harder to stay in MDS mode due to the increased throttle response. I drive in sport mode 90℅ with tow mode on to get the most out. I can lay off the throttle to give you a definitive answer on mpg improvements, but last week 200 mile trip I averaged about the same with my random explosion WOT. I was one of the guys waiting for diablo for year and when I heard about hyper tech release. The day I got the hypertech box diablo released theirs .I was going to send it back before opening it. I decided since hypertech offers 30 money back guaranty why not give it a shot. That was over month ago I'm not taking it off.

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Sweet. I use the Select Terrain quite a bit, like after we got 7" of snow dumped on us last Tuesday. And I need that MDS for trips out of town. I'm getting more interested in the Interceptor. I'm not tye type of person that's going to start messing with shift points and fuel ratios and all of the otehr things that could potentially allow me to manually screw up my 40K vehicle. These Off the Shelf things might be a little more mild, but are generally safer. Very encouraging!

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Add one more satisfied customer to this list... I just installed mine today.
A noticeable difference, for sure. Now, I need to remember to drive it like I'm looking for an improvement in MPG. Wish me luck.

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

Hello guys, im new here i own a 2012 ram and 2001 xj. Lastnight i installed the hypertech interceptor in my ram. I noticed faster throttle response but thats about all. I have a full tank of regular gas and only drove it a mile. Does it get better in time, or does the premium fuel make it that much more noticeable power wise? Thanks

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

I run 93 all the time so I would not be able to give you 87 baseline.

Re: Hypertech Interceptor

thanks all for the feedback.

i dont have the funds for a diablo; while the hypertech is a bit cheaper, plus can't beat a 30 day money back guarantee.

hands are itching to buy!
