No let down with the K&N or Volant(from reading the posts)
It's a Hemi! So lets hear it.

Looks great! What was your deciding factor on plastic vs metal tube? From the descriptions it mentions that plastic: "they use only non-metallic rotationally molded tubes that can reduce intake air temperature and decrease intake sound over a metal tube."

17 HP Gains and 15 lbft of torque. Interesting.

Can you tell if the hood makes a good seal with the rubber seals?

I cannot, but I am not convinced it matters when the Jeep is moving anyway.

Re: I have installed my new K&N noise maker

I am torn between the Volant and K&N now, the price difference with discounts, free shipping and price match from New Level or Autoanything is within $10

Re: I have installed my new K&N noise maker

I've had many K&N, and never a Volant. If Volant has a dry filter, I'd pick it. Once you move away from oil'd filters, you'll never want to go back. It's so much easier to vacuum and stick back in, or wash and let dry....VS.... spray cleaning fluid, let soak in, wash, let air dry, oil but not too much or too little, let oil soak in for a few hours, check for white spots, if oiled too much, soak in newspaper, etc.

I may be somewhat exaggerating, but in the past 2-3 years, I switched to Pro Dry S filters (or equivalent), and I'll never go back to oiled gauze.

I had the AEM Dry on my Magnum and I went back to K&N

If thats a Volant with the powercore filter, then its a much better product than the K&N for street use.
