Just saying that those gains are optimistic at the optimal conditions, no where near what you see on the street. Once the ECU tunes for the new flow characteristics, you may lose HP. Volant probably knows this and won't go there for marketing hype. K&N could care less just to make a buck... What you need is an independent test evaluation. These guys are not going to do that as they know the results will show little street gain, if any. On the track, where routing 6000 rpms are reached it may be a different story.
Dude Really? Why are hating on K&N so much? Especially with hearsay. Show us some proof of your degrading remarks about how K&N is "reusing test data from an overly restrictive blocked filter chrysler."

Yes really. It is not a hate think, but sometime the truth hurts. If you believe the K&N hype here, I have this good deal on a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to talk to you about. It doesn't take much research. You will see plenty of K&N marketers posting on these sites, perhaps even face book, about their vehicle's awesome performance... and I guess that makes it true.

So what do you think the disclaimer "representative results" mean on the dyno charts? Representative of what? Did I mention I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to talk to you about?

Yeah I was pulled into K&N by marketing hype, oh maybe 20 years ago. As a result I've learned to be skeptical.

They do sound better, but for performance, more snake oil than substance, but you can read that on a number car club sites or discussions.

I just would love to know how you read blocked or clogged filter from "representative results"?
I have read the car club sites and they are just rehashed falsehoods that because some other dude that "has more posts than me must be smart right?"
Reading it on car club boards is the truth then? Are you trying to sell a bridge in Brooklyn that you already bought?
So maybe K&N is guilty of something but, wouldn't you be the pot calling the kettle black?

It sounds so good I am considering passing on the cat-back. Disclaimer: I reserve the right to get a cat-back after this mindless comment.

Re: I have installed my new K&N noise maker

I have no idea why I typed outer, but obviously I meant LOUDER.
I do think it's funny when people rag on those who spend a few hundos on the K&N or Volant saying it's just a noise maker, yet it's perfectly ok to drop 1500 large on the Corsa exhaust.

Buck, if you see a MG Overland Hemi with no front plate, tints, roof rack and a gun sticker on the back - honk

Re: I have installed my new K&N noise maker

I'm thinking about getting the K&N 63-1563 but their site says it will fit the 2011 but doesn't say it will fit the 2012. Does anyone know for sure that the K&N 63-1563 will fit the 2012 GC Overland with the 5.7?
