IAT Sensor Question for Those Who Have Installed the Mopar CAI

The IAT twists and locks into the factory intake tube, but it seems to just sit in the rubber grommet in the Mopar intake tube. Is it supposed to be like that, where you could just pull it straight out pretty easily if you wanted to? I think I broke the little tab that holds the IAT in the factory intake tube when I was trying to twist it out, but the tab doesn't seem to be needed on the Mopar intake. Amirite? Any help is much appreciated.

x2. I just installed an Airaid Jr. intake kit. It uses a grommet also. I actually had to take side cutters and remove the side tab so that it would fully seat into the grommet properly. Otherwise it wanted to sit sideways and sorta pop back out.

Re: IAT Sensor Question for Those Who Have Installed the Mopar CAI

I installed the mopar cai earlier this week, and I noticed that it was loose as well. After I screwed with it a bit, I did get it to fit tightly with the supplied parts. Try twisting it in while applying some moderate pressure......BE CAREFUL NOT TO PUSH TOO HARD or the grommet may fall into the cai tube and you will have to take it all apart to retrieve it.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I thought about that as I was fooling with it. I was already on borrowed time since it was Valentine's Day, so I wasn't looking to add any more steps than necessary.
