Increase mpg. Undertray?

Anyone know if there is an undertray or bell plate for the wi2. Also if there is, does it really increase mpg.

Re: Increase mpg. Undertray?

An underplate definitely improves MPG, but the whole aerodynamics of the vehicle need to be designed in concert with it. I don't think just adding one is going to help you.

Re: Increase mpg. Undertray?

The SRT8 WK2 does have front and rear belly pans that may possibly be retrofitted to a regular WK2. They have some mounting points that are present in all WK2's, but the plastic mounts at the front and rear bumper skins are specific to the SRT8's.

Re: Increase mpg. Undertray?

Sounds interesting. I am not looking at the MPGs but I would assume they also protect from gravel etc. Do you have pictures? Or a part #?

Thanks
Alex

Re: Increase mpg. Undertray?

On out jeeps it might counter act as the added weight might be an problem unless it is made of fiberglass or Carbon Fiber. It kinda hard to justify it for out luchbox shaped Jeeps but it might be worth a shot.

Re: Increase mpg. Undertray?

Mines got one from the front bumper to the front axle. Is that unusual?
