Installed Volant CAI yesterday

I bought a Volant CAI and installed it yesterday. Took about an hour. There weren't installation instructions included, but it wasn't difficult. I got the model with the Donaldson PowerCore dry filter (there are two filter options). Part number is 161576. The only difficult part of the installation was getting the mass airflow sensor to go into the grommet properly. After a few tries, I got it to work.

I went for a quick test drive, and it does make a nice growling sound when you give 'er some gas. I like it. It's not obnoxiously loud.

I will note that from the top, it looks like a totally enclosed "box", but it's really just a plastic heatshield. I'm happy with it so far.

Re: Installed Volant CAI yesterday

That looks great!
A buddy of mine got the Volant for his C6. It looks mean but, zero instructions (needed to cut the shroud) and parts were missing.

Re: Installed Volant CAI yesterday

They seriously do not provide instructions for any of their intakes? That's just lame, and lazy. I've heard good things about their products, but I've also read negatives about their quality control.

Re: Installed Volant CAI yesterday

To be fair to Volant, there IS a diagram that shows how the new intake goes together. It's like an "exploded" view. As far as step-by-step directions, there are none. However, there is a tech support phone number included.

Like I said, it wasn't difficult. I've been working on cars for about 25 years though. I can fix or figure out almost anything. Maybe for a complete noob the install could present a few issues.
