Some people don't believe a cold air intake actually give improved power and throttle response. I can't agree or disagree with them until I see factual dyno testing and IAT testing. A open air filter that sucks hotter air AND raises IAT temps, does nothing but increases sound and some times reduce low end torque. A QUALITY cold air intake with a good heat shield/box, tube, and filter will help if the existing inlet system is a restriction. And someone needs to use a flow bench to check for pressure drops through the intake system to measure restriction accurately, which, on the 3.6 WK2, I doubt there is enough interest in the aftermarket companies to do those tests, R&D, and release it to the public.
