Intalled Airaid Intake

Hey guys this is my first post. I just leased a 2012 JGC Laredo X and did my first mod.

Just received and installed my Airaid intake for my '12 3.6. I got it on amazon for 160 shipped. It's a nice piece and installed in about 30 min. Air is supplied through both the factory scoop behind the drivers headlight and also from the engine bay. The aluminum dissapates heat and the rubber weather strip seals up against the hood to isolate the hot engine from the filter.

It got too dark to take pics I'll try tomorrow.

I know people get into heated debates over HP and $ value. Im a dad now so i am mostly concerned with squeezing out a few more mpg as little as it may be its better then nothing. Also didn't want that annoying ricer sucking/vacuum noise most intakes give you.

Plus if I wanted my HP I woulda gotten a Hemi lol

Re: Intalled Airaid Intake

Please let me know how well it works. I'm more interested in the HP gain than MPG. I threw MPG out the window when I decided to buy a HEMI. It's a mod. I will make too but I have so much I want to do I have to prioritize.

Re: Intalled Airaid Intake

The $160 ones seem to be box and filter only, have to get over $200 for the 3' hose to the TB and that is all I want.

Re: Intalled Airaid Intake

No -- just a minor grunt. It's not obnoxiously loud -- like some intakes. I had a Steeda intake on my Duratec 3.5L. It was obnoxiously loud -- and sent some nasty vibrations into the cabin at a certain RPM. I honestly can't remember how quiet my stock system was on my Jeep, but the Airaid is not loud. It's louder than a drop-in K&N, but not as loud as a full-piped system.

Re: Intalled Airaid Intake

If your looking for a true cold air intake or just something that works, then your best bet is a drop in filter ...

Re: Intalled Airaid Intake

I've just bought an AIRAID for my Hemi GC, looking forward to installing it and seeing how it goes. Have read a lot of posts and is hard to decide on brand and if it's worth it. Stay tuned for how it goes in coming weeks
