+1

I don't see the 2011's being that much cheaper. And the fact that it is a model year older when you go to trade it off in the future, there will be a larger hit then.

Wow ok... Yeah sounds right to go with a 2012. Better to get a vehicle built with all the stuff rather than upgrading to try to be the same... I'll drive both before I buy....

Re: Is the new 6 speed v8 2012 worth it or save money and get 2011

I just went over 2,000 miles in my 10/2011 build 2012 Overland 4x4 V8 with ORAII and haven't experienced ANY of the problems about which I've read on this forum that owners of mainly 2011s have experienced. Yesterday, I drove it mostly on the highway for an hour in hilly central Connecticut with the radio off to see (hear) whether I could detect any of the offensive noises or behaviors that others have reported (e.g., rattling in the cabin, engine or transmission shudder after break-in). The only negative thing I can report is that the V8 sounds more like my dad's 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbodiesel than any other car I've ever driven. But that's just me. I'm glad that I paid a little extra for a 2012 built exactly how I wanted it.

And, once again, thanks to everyone who has bothered to post about any problems that they have experienced with their cars. I really appreciate knowing for what to look (and listen) in regard to potential problems.
