Has anyone ever heard of the volant cold air intake for the 5.7L hemi. I'm looking at getting the intake and this one looks pretty promising and has great reviews, just figured I'd ask you guys for your opinion.

There are quite a few people on this forum who have the Volant CAI, including myself. I do like this product and enjoy the low-end growl you get when stomping on it...sounds more like the HEMI should sound. I have the model with the 100,000-mile Donaldson PowerDore filter and have had no issues with it. Installation was pretty easy.
Well...funny you ask. You'll get a lot of people who argue about whether you actually get any horsepower gain by adding a CAI. A while back on this forum, someone posted a link to a YouTube video showing a couple of guys, in conjunction with a dyno machine, essentially debunking the "myth" that you can increase your horsepower using a CAI. Then you have the CAI manufacturers who show dyno test results yielding an increase of horsepower, usually somewhere around 5-20 HP. So, who really knows.
After installing mine, I would swear I felt some increase in low-end power, but it could simply be a placebo effect. Either way, I love the sound it produces and that's good enough for me.
Now, that being said...I did also add a Modern Muscle Performance 87mm throttle body about a month after adding the CAI and I can tell you that the combination of the two does yield a nice increase in throttle response.
I have had a k&n on my previous vehicles and I wasn't that happy with their product, maybe it's because they were V6's and not a V8, I'm not sure, but I want to try something different.
i have the volant.
IMHO you lose low end torque, gain a bit on the high end, almost like turbo effect. when i put the stocker box back on i gained that low end back, but it felt like the hemi struggled a little durign the higher rpms..
Probably the biggest improvement comes from the clean airflowby eliminating the labyrinth in tje stock system. If you combine it with a bored throttle body you'll get a little bit of HP.
