No kidding! I'm extremely glad it didn't fry my ECM or anything like that. I can see why the module got as wet as it did- the fuse box almost acts like a bucket. I can see this being a problem especially for anyone that may take their GC off road in wet areas. Water splashing up under the hood would be enough to cause this same problem.

As I'm sitting here making RTV seals on the various edges of the box before I reassemble it I almost think a better option would be what the RC car crowd does to protect their servos/other electronics in the cars. They use balloons to cover the box and wiretie it off over the cabling harness. If I can find something similar to that I could fit this box in to that may work better- assuming that all the cabling under the fuse panel don't eventually wear through the material (which I suspect would happen as it's a fairly tight fit under there).

Another option may be to buy some of that As Seen on TV spray rubber seal stuff and coat the entire box with a protective layer of rubber. ;-)

Re: Just had a major issue with my Hypertech interseptor

Please let us know what you come up with for insulation. I've wondered about shoving it under the fuse box. Not exactly an easy fit. I've wondered if I could use a prefab box of some sort.....maybe a heat sink or something. Dilema--watertight but cooling--those 2 animals don't go togetrher well.

Re: Just had a major issue with my Hypertech interseptor

In my case water is not the cause. Their is no evidence of condensation on or in the module.
