Looks like they hang down a lot..

Definitely not the right solution for someone who uses their jeep for offroading....

Re: Just Installed - Exhaust Bypass Valve

I dont believe that there would be any issue with water fording because if your deep enough for water to get into the bypass valves you are most likely deep enough for water to get into the regular exhaust pipes.

Not sure though maybe someone else could comment.

Did you look at the pics? Those bypass valves are definitely lower than the stock exhaust pipe height at the back bumper.
I personally have driven my GC through a water crossing that is 18" deep and I've probably gone through it 10 times. Haven't had any problems at all. I got my close friend to drive through it and I told him to park on a uphill right after the water and rev up the engine to 4k several times and there was almost no water coming out of the exhaust pipe at all.

Re: Just Installed - Exhaust Bypass Valve

Or off roading. The mud and crude will hamper the valve.

Looks like the part to get is the low-profile version... won't hang down nearly as much as these...

Re: Just Installed - Exhaust Bypass Valve

what if I put the cutout in front of the big suitcase muffler? Then we won't have any clearance issues

That is a really cool mod. I may have to think about this a little harder. I hate the quiet exhaust but I do need to keep it somewhat tame for the wife.

I know DMH makes a low profile, not sure if there are other low profile options. I'm also concerned about ground clearance.

Re: Just Installed - Exhaust Bypass Valve

Havent had a chance to make a sound clip of my system.

As far as the Mod as a whole, I had no issue spending the money on a full exhaust system but this really lets out the unmuffled sound of the HEMI.

Very happy with this system as my Jeep is on the streets 95% of the time.
