Wow more $$ than the Airraid? That'll be a tough sell.

Nice looking product though, and has a full tube unlike the air-raid. The dyno chart shows good low rpm gains. Also the street price may be a bit more reasonable.

That sure looks like a lot of useable HP and TQ at lower RPM's. This thing doesn't look as cool as the volant, but looks isn't what matters. Dyno sheets don't lie, right? I'd like to see them compare this to the drop-in they sell while they're at it.

From the bottom of the Dyno Chart: Horsepower gains based on specific or similar vehicle dynamometer test. Results will vary.

Re: K&N 5.7L 2011 Aircharger

Interesting in their instructions they relocate the intake air temperature sensor towards the filter, using an extension to the wiring harness. I wonder if that was based on some dyno testing? The volant places it essentially in the stock location right in front of the bend to the throttle body.

Forgive my ignorance. Is the a difference between a CAI and air charger?

It is the same thing in this case, probably their trademarked name for the kits.

FYI - There is a discount code (FETCH10) for autoanything which drops the price another 10%

man, you guys take me too seriously. perhaps there was a hint of nitrous that day in the shop?

really though, this thing look promising, numbers wise. the heat shield looks a little cheesy, but I assume the engine bay would have more hot air trapped in it while strapped to a dyno than out on the street. so, cool. christmas is just around the corner...

Re: K&N 5.7L 2011 Aircharger

So you wouldn't see any gains in horsepower or torque until the engine exceeds 3,000 RPM? I've been trying to maximize my mileage and have rarely seen my tachometer go over 2,000 RPM. I guess that the stock intake will work just fine for me.

I did miss the hint of sarcasm... Sorry.

Notice that the two plots cross below 3000 rpm, but that's all we see. I believe they are trading low end torque for mid to high end gains. That is not ideal on a 5000 LB vehicle. On a 3000 LB sports car that sees track duty, that is an acceptable tradeoff.
