no hate at all, i was being sorta sarcastic. i ran them on my other cars before. not sure if today it still causes issues with the MAF sensor or not in some vehicles?

Re: k&N Air filter

I certainly do not hate the K&N filters as I have them in my other cars but if there is a dry filter that is as good as the K&N filter, then I would lean towards that as it would eliminate any potential concerns with the K&N filters. Also, I do not have to purchase the cleaning kit as well as you can just wash the aFe filter.

Re: k&N Air filter

Now I get using a filter that doesn't need additional cleaners and oils for maintenance. That makes sense to me and may be the reason I switch over to the dry AFE.

Yep, more air = more dirt, simple as that. As for power/mileage gains, LOL.

Re: k&N Air filter

I think the sensor thing is from people dumping 3 gallons of oil onto the filter, if done right or even close there is no harm of oil flying off and jacking sensors up.

With that said, I don't like k&n filters, too much money for no performance gain.

X2. I've run K&N drop-in's in my '97 ZJ, '00 WJ, '03 WJ, and now '08 WK. Never had an issue. Didn't get any power increase (or intake noise) to speak of, nor did I really expect to.

It's just a convenience issue for me. I clean it about every 20K miles. Never had any fouling problems with the IAT. The IAT on the '08 WK HEMI looks like new after 78.8K miles. Then again, I do not over-oil it either.
