K"&N CAI Intake install question

So I just installed a 77series CAI on my Laredo. Just wondering, when you pump the gas in park itll get to 4000rpm then sit there for a second before dropping back to 1500 or lower. Is this normal for it to sit there for a second?? Thanks for the help

Re: K"&N CAI Intake install question

Also, in the installation directions it tells you to cut your factory vacuum hose (which is curved at the end). Then the K&N comes with a piece of tubing to connect to the intake pipe from the vacuum hose. I am just concerned about cutting 5 inches off of the factory vacuum tubing. If it is a cheap piece to replace I wouldnt be so nervous, just the thought of the dealer raping me to replace it worries me. Also one last thing, does installing a CAI void the factory warranty? Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry for babbling.

Re: K"&N CAI Intake install question

The vaccum hose is a simple, short, cheap part. I cannot recall diameter, but believe it is shown below just above center with the red dot at the opening (this was shot from my CAI replacement). Your dealer should get it reasonably cheaply, otherwise you can get one from any decent auto parts store, if you even need to replace it at all.

A CAI is a clean, simple mod and will generally not impact your warranty. My Jeep service tech has one in his Hemi and recommends it. Search the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in this forum for more comfort.

Please post up some photos of the K&N, I didn't realize they finally got one issued for the WK2.
