Hi was wondering has anybody installed the kn cold air intake on their Laredo . I have a 14 jeep grand cherokee Laredo with the 3.6 vvt engine . Is it easy to install and did you have to disconnect the negative on the battery . Any tips suggestions feel free to let me know thank you . I have yet to install it .
I just ordered k&n CAI for my 14 overland 3.6. K&n website video says to disconnect the negative terminal. Here is a dumb question But where is the negative terminal? No I have not read my owners manual yet lol nor did I see it when I was under the hood the other day.
I just got it installed yesterday my mechanic did not . It's located by the battery the negative terminal . The battery is located under passenger seat you can access better from second row .
You don't really have too disconnect the negative cable . just be careful with the sensor when you pull it out the old system . That's your main piece . Sounds great you will love it I have the same engine as you .
Yeah it snaps back in on both sides . It will be fine won't move or anything or feel any rattling . So much more room in the engine bay. you get rid of so much plastic from the stock system .
Finally just got around to installing mine and I'm digging it. Sounds great and it has a clean look to it. Can't believe the size of the stock air intake contraption.
Yeah you c so much plastic lots more room . It's bad ass when u nail the gas sounds awesome too . Looks way nice and cleaner I'm glad your digging it me too . How long do you wait in these cars do get oil changes was told by dealer you can wait up to 10000 miles I call bs . Do you wait till the car tells you or no to change it .
I'd just wait until the car tells ya. If you're into towing, off roading, etc I'd probably change it sooner. So prior to the install of the k&n my average mpg around town was always around 16.8. No heavy foot just the same driving around town. After the install 100 miles later the same driving around town it reads 18.9 mpg. Idk what to believe but it's what I'm seeing on my dash. Regardless it does sound pretty sweet!!
That's where I'm
At too it's great to see that mpg increase . The tank on these cars is huge it's nice to get more out of your fill up . Isn't the sound great and when you put in sport mode just gets louder and faster . Just got my oil change today next time I will wait longer . I have yet to get that message to change it lol . Fresh oil can't hurt anyway right .
I have no hemi that should sound great with the magnaflow exhaust . I can put that on my v6 right just swap out mufflers . Or do you have to put all new pipes too .
