Looking for Corsa Exh self install tips

Last night, while in my sleep, I somehow bought a Corsa exhaust during a last minute cyber Monday deal... an early Xmas present to myself I guess.

Anyway, I'm looking for a little advice on doing a self install. I consider myself a shadetree mech and feel up to the challenge. I've seen a few post citing some issues with the Corsa setup but also some stating that the install is pretty straight forward.

Would love to get some input and "look out for..." advice on those that have done it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for Corsa Exh self install tips

As you mentioned it is kind of straight forward, following the instructions helps a lot. Its been since MAY when I put mine in so I don't remember to much in terms of quick pointers but one thing I had trouble with was a hanger for the new corsa, however was able to bend it enough to get it to work. By now I'd imagine the kinks are worked out. Getting the old unit down isn't to bad, I did it by myself, however its much easier to have a second person to help put in the new corsa, at least the X section as its the largest and heaviest. Raise the Jeep to the highest QL level and you can do all that is needed. If you have ramps, a plus.

Re: Looking for Corsa Exh self install tips

I have installed either Borla or Magnaflow cat backs on my last 6 cars. Take your time and you will be fine. You will love the satisfaction of doing it yourself as well. Saving the $ does not hurt either. Enjoy!

Why pay a dealer to mess up your car when you can do it yourself. It's pretty straight forward. Take you time and follow the instructions. Having the right tools is helpful too.

Re: Looking for Corsa Exh self install tips

having a buddy with a lift and airtools is nice =)

but seriously, even with out its a pretty straightforward install. At least with mine all the hangers were properly angled and whatnot. you might need a prybar to help you with getting the grommets out. I would suggest spraying the grommets before and after with a penetrating lubricant to make getting the hangers in and out easier.

the hardest part is the aesthetic portion of wiggling the exhaust just right before tightening down all the bolts so that your tips are in the middle of the exhaust cutout.
