Magnaflow Exhaust hits skid plates?

Anyone else installed a Magnaflow dual exhaust system on a WK2 with skid plates "Trail Rated"?? I had to take two of the plates off to get the X tube to fit. Will have to trim the edges of the plates? Anyone else had this problem? Karl

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust hits skid plates?

Well took the skid plates off and trimmed them. Had to take very little off and structurally did not effect them.

The Magnaflow sytem was $854 shipped from Amazon! Wow it is nice; no droning on the V6; really nice tone. Great system!

Good news about the skid plate fitment and modification. Congrats on the new exhaust!

So you bought a V8 system for your V6 and it fit perfectly, except for the plates. Any droning on the highway?

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust hits skid plates?

Yes the V8 Magnaflow system fits V6; you just need one rear exhaust bracket and two rubber donut insulators. No droning on the highway, it is a great system and when idling the same noise level as stock. With windows up it is hard to notice it; put the windows down and it sounds really nice!
