I have to say i'm a little bit disappointed. 1. I ordered (through local 4wheelparts) two months ago, finally shipped wed. 2. The x-pipe outter shell was <1/4" from protective pans on both sides. 3. They sent two left tips (the tips themselves are welding from Magnaflow to an elbow so there's one unique left and one right tip). 4. there's a drone with vibration between 1500-2000rpm under light load seemingly when it's being a 4-cylinder vehicle.

I chose Magnaflow because I think Borla and Corsa are too loud for my taste and that part of it i'm happy with my Magnaflow. It sounds just as I like it under load on acceleration and in all conditions except #4 mentioned above.

Thats a bummer. I've asked a ton of people, they were happy with (drone-less) Corsa. I called Borla, Corsa, and Magnaflow and asked a ton of questions. I sourced the Corsa exhaust today, my dealer didnt care if it was Mopar or Corsa. For what it's worth, I believe Corsa is manufacturing for Mopar. Perhaps you could return it?

on the wk hemi, the magnaflow comes with a resonator and a muffler.

i dont know you guys stock setup but did you ditch the factory resonator if it comes with one?

or you will need to add one if you have to keep it. any good exhaust place can help with a reso.

attached the layout, i'll try to attach some photos later.

Another forum member posted his install and mentioned the same drone I experienced but said it was minor and barely noticeable. I agree with the sound part of the drone is easily covered up by stereo but there's a vibration I could feel. That's the bad part. I don't think I'll return it.

and as far as the correct right side tip goes, they're overnighting it to me.

So what was the outcome here?? Still a drone with the Magnaflow? I'm intrigued by the more subtle sound- but this doesn't sound great...

The correct tail pipe section was overnighted as promised and installed. drone is still there. i've gotten used to the sound of it especially with the radio on. none of my passengers have noticed it prior to me pointing it out. i suppose i may be a little really picky since i paid for it :). No plans to change anything at this point.

i wonder if any of the programmers in the future will be able to turn off multi-displacement. i'd love to try it to see if the drone goes away.

I have a custom magnaflow setup on mine with the front resonator deleted and replaced with an H-pipe. I have two 14842 race core 6" round mufflers with 4" tips (they look bigger honestly) welded on where the rear mufflers were. It is at least twice as loud as Magnaflow's kit for the WK2 but I wanted it that way. It has some drone when cruising at 1400-1500 RPM but not much considering how loud it is at full throttle. It does crackle a little at WOT (steel wool and glass packed mufflers tend to crackle more than chambered or turbo style) but even the corsa crackles at WOT on the 5.7 WK2 and it has a lot more mufflers. For pure deep nasty sound but kinda poor flow due to chambered design a set of original 40 series flowmasters are hard to beat on any V8 IMHO.

I went to Lou's custom exhaust and had them just cut the resonators off and new double wall 3 1/2" tips.I love the sound.Nice little rumble at idle and not loud at speed.$180.00.

Yes, Corsa Mfrs for Mopar. They are considered to be the less droning of all the available exhausts. That said, MDS sounds like s*^T on the outside when it comes on. Great under full throttle though.

Question. I've listened to YouTube clips of magnaflow, borla, corsa and hack jobs, and I am really loking the magnaflow takeoff sound. But that's all I've heard. What does this drone sound sound like? Is there a distinct and noticeable tone change the milisecond the MDS kicks in, or is it just a constant tone when cruising? I can totally deal with the latter, that's the nature of exhaust systems. A crazy tone change every time the MDS starts is a deal breaker.

Phisch, in the case of the Borlas, a slight drone only occurs at low or no throttle (coasting) and while in MDS. Otherwise, they are nicely aggressive. Others report little to no drone with the Magnaflow's with a bit more mellow notes in general. YMMV.

Found the Corsa droneless claim to be a bunch of marketing hype on a Z28 I owned, Have a friend who installed a Borla on his 5.7 Tundra and was very impressed. Easy install, great sound.
I know I am not quoting a wk2 system but do have direct knowledge of what I say for what it is worth.
I think we are all looking for a nice little increase in throatiness without it becoming obnoxious on the highway. That DRONE, UGH!!!!

I had Corsa on my Denali pickup.Really sounded nice.I thought 1200 to 1500 dollars was too much money so I went with deleting the resonators.BAD IDEA !!!! Sound is great when driving hard.At a normal pace the drone is annoying.Next thing I am going to try is putting small glass pack mufflers where the resonators were.I think this will work.I'll post results when compleated after new years when my exhaust guy returns to work.

I have the Magnaflow on my 2012 GC Overland. Bought from a "certified seller" on the Magnaflow web page. I got the unit in two days! Paid $900.00 including shipping. It was perfect. Yes, there is a "drone" on the freeway at 65 to 75 mph when it drops to 4 cyl. Click the shifter from "D" to "6" and it disappears. Actually, it's of no notice with radio on. Overall, I'm very pleased. Quality of product is A+ and it fits perfectly.

I am currently running the magnaflow catback on my 2012 and hate the drone. I have to admit it sounds great when you get on it but for normal driving I experience in cab vibrations and a drone whenever MDS is on, regardless of speed. Experience is most unpleasant at highway speeds. Considering corsa now but just can't decide.
