Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

With purely HWY driving, I'll get about 520 (averaging 21.5-22.6 if not in the mountains). In the city from about 390-465, depending on if have been driving home in stop and go or driving home after rush hour.

Thats in my 2012 V6, skid plates and front air dam on.

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

I get just under 400 on average. I typically fill up around 1/8th of a tank, and put in around 21 gallons. Im about 50% highway; WK2 Hemi.

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

My median range has been 468 miles. I actually maintain a spreadsheet w/ all Jeep related expenses. Fuel cost wise (mine's a V6 engine), it has been $0.18 per mile and average mpg has been 20.75 for the last 8018 miles. My drive is mostly commuting with few trips in the mountains.

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

Yeah, I can get about 425-475. MAybe my aggressive driving keeps me from seeing over 500 miles. I can never get it to that!

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

Just for comparisons sake.
I usually get around 850km (530 miles) from fill to fill. If I let it run right down it will get 950km (589 miles).

Using the published figures from Jeep for the car it has a theoretical highway range of 1150km (714 miles)

This is obviously with the export 3.0 diesel.

Cheers,
Matty

Maybe you should become the spokesperson for BP. I heard they are looking for a new ad campaign. You could stand in front of your vehicle with the hood open and as the camera goes in for the close up, you can tell the world your lines:

" I drive the slowest big V8, on premium gas, just because, and I don't even care what the gas mileage is.......

So be like me and help support your local oil company.

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

^^^Why bash on a guy who doesn't keep track of his mileage? That makes no sense. Not everyone in this world watches their mileage like a hawk. People who buy SUV's and knew what the mileage was going in. If they don't, then that is their fault.

Just my thought above post. As someone already stated, there are other threads like this one out there.

coming from the guy who bought a slower, same size jeep, for 3 more MPG.

I own stock in gas companies and companies that help the gas companies, why would i not want to help out?

Your not aware of the history. Redneck and a few others like to stand up and thump their chest whenever they get a chance to.

Funny. I was gonna respond with comments very similar to yours, but didn't want to get certain V6'ers panties in a bunch all over again.

I don't track my mileage at all. Buying a 5.7 there is a certain assumption that gas mileage isn't going to be great. On the other hand I only get about 12-13 MPG. That's New York for ya!!!
