Ah. Gotcha. I'm going to a shop after work today to see about finding a spot somewhere (i'm hoping in the engine bay) in the vehicle to put the second battery.

Mate, you would be lucky to get a D-cell into the engine bay. From your signature, I take you don't have Qadra-lift, in which case you are in luck. The car battery is located under the floor under the front right seat. There is an identical cavity under the left front seat just perfect for a second battery. It gives you the lowest centre of gravity possible. Those with Quadra-lift are out of luck because some genious chose to put the Quadra-lift control gear there.

Re: Miles per tank range - anyone tracking?

I had a 12 Laredo 4x4 V6 with the quadra trac I. Whenever I filled up, the evic would read 542 miles to empty. I averaged around 22.4 mpg until I out the Mopar rack on top of it. My mileage then went down to 21.7 mpg.

I now have a 13 Limited 4x4 V6 with the quadra trac II. When I fill up now, the evic reads 492 miles to empty. I average about 20.5 mpg. Its a combo of city and highway driving. I have about a 20 mile commute each way.

I am amazed that the 4x4 system makes that much difference.
