hey guys just wondering if anyone has installed the molar cols air intake system, i have a question. does this system change the sound at all? i like that my grand cherokee is very quiet when I'm driving i can hardly tell that my engine is running from inside the cabin. does this Mopar Cold Air Intake system add sound? am i gonna hear the engine when I'm sitting in the car driving?

thanks in advance

Dont know what motor you have, but my Hemi came with a Mopar intake on it. Lucky for me in the trunk area was the factory air box. After 2 weeks the factory box went on, and the aftermarket one sits in my attic collecting spiders and dust. I did not like the noise it made.

Just curious why you want to put on a CAI if you want to keep the Jeep quiet. Most install one to hear the noise, as there is no performance gains to be had unless you also do the exhaust and ECU tune.

I have the k&n intake on my 3.6l gc

It makes the vehicle very loud overall..especially when you jam the throttle

It's noticeably louder in the cabin also..but I like it ..I think it sounds pretty good..especially in conjunction with my Gibson exhaust

Unfortunately I have to remove the k&n now as I'm installing the supercharger tomorrow

I'm kind of bummed that Ripp tuned off the stock airbox so now I'm
Going to lose the sound of the k&n

Greetings,

With my AFE CAI, during normal crusing, it is pretty quiet. The hard accelerations the noise level picks up, but it is not super loud.

The cabin on the JGC does not a nice job in blocking out exterior noise.

Best for now.:)

Apparently this seems to be a controversial topic, but does anybody think this will actually do anything besides make more noise? I want to put a Gibson on my GC before too long and would welcome a slightly more aggressive sound, but I'd put the money towards other things if that's all its going to do.

I had the k+n cai and then added the Gibson exhaust

The k&n adds way more sound than the Gibson ..I supercharged my jeep and had to go back to the stock airbox but still have the Gibson

Even under full boost the vehicle is pretty quiet ..if you're looking for sound just get the k&n

Don't waste your time on the Gibson...but together they do sound great

Hi everyone, well I must say I have the Mopar CAI in my Jeep GC Overland 3.6 V6 and I really like it, the sound it adds is nice because it gives it this sort of muscle car sound when you hit the throttle but it doesn't make noise when you're rolling around or cruising on the highway. Lastly I do think it adds at least 2 mpgs specially on highway. All in all I think it looks great under the hood, sounds great and doesn't make noise in normal driving unless you hit the gas hard.
