Smile Northstar agm battery

Had this battery installed at an Autozone today after buying it through Amazon. The installer said there would be no charge but I gave him $20 cash. The manager said this was their policy even though I hadn't brought it there I tried 6 or 7 places before I stopped at AZ. The non-helpful stores either didn't install owner owned parts or they were too busy. I was willing to pay up to $40 as it's not an easy install with the battery under the passenger seat and the batteries weigh almost 60lbs each.

Check out the specs in this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's made in the USA.

The original Mopar battery hadn't failed yet but it was over 5 years old.

The XS battery is a renamed Northstar

I think you need the highest Reserve Capacity and nothing comes close to the Northstar/XS.

Re: Northstar agm battery

thanx for the info .
I had gone to the stereo review article and then looked up the xs battery

so it sounds like what I'm looking for...
I wonder how that stacks up against stock as far as specs {obviously much better}
I wonder why the xs brand doesn't list a battery for this

Re: Northstar agm battery

You can fit an H8, I think that's the designation, which is a slightly larger case and capacity, in the northstar that might be a decent gain. The diesel has a this size from the factory and the only two differences I found are the hold down and the cover both available at the parts counter. I put one in a couple years back and trimmed the foam on the cover for the terminal instead of buying the lid. Just an option.

Greetings,

You should consider going with a 2 battery for the stereo system. I am running 3 amps in my system and OE Battery is running past it's 6th year. I think sometime before next winter I might change out the original battery just to be on the safe side. They say that AMG batteries have a life span up to 10 years.

Best for now.
