Evolv0 is just really nice
Re: OMG! Not another exhaust thread!!

Nice it came out with a very clean deep tone. I like it for a V6.

Appreciate it. Personally, that's the best sound one can get from a V6 so I was happy with the result

I agree with Evolv0.

I waited until I could get some headphones on to get a better idea and I think it came really nice. Definitely a deeper tone than stock and didn't cost you an arm and a leg, which is always good. I'd have to say it sounds pretty similar to the Gibson axle back on mine. Obviously yours is a bit louder with the duals, but my single outlet holds up and has a nice throaty sound that I like.

Glad people are finding solutions around these catback systems available for us though. Those products are way too expensive to justify for some sound feedback and a little more throttle response, IMO.

Thanks. The main reason I wanted to share was so others didn't feel trapped as I did and could have a decent system at a decent price.

Re: OMG! Not another exhaust thread!!

Wow that does sound really good. How about the volume inside the cabin while driving (city/highway speeds)?

It is audible from the cabin at any speed and upon acceleration is when it is best heard. Never is it loud though and what I would consider drone there is none of.

Here is a clip, from a fellow member I believe, with the actual Magnaflow 16929 system (essentially the same thing) on his 3.6 V6:

Re: OMG! Not another exhaust thread!!

For those of you doing the "generic" Magnaflow frankenexhaust, what size inlet/outlet are you going with? 2.5"?

well I wanted to keep as much torque as possible, so what I did was get all my pipes in 2.5" but on my mufflers, I kept them 2.25" on the inlets and outlets.

Re: OMG! Not another exhaust thread!!

Nice work.. and heyyyy!!! that's my vid. In the end I should've went with piecing it together like you did to save the $$$. I do like the cleaner install on the 16929 and based on your vids, the sound is identical.

I had my exhaust guys spot weld all the sections that are clamped together. AND Magnaflow was right about the exhaust getting lower and deeper toned as it broke in. About 2 months in and the exhaust is noticeably deeper for me but I like it.

Re: OMG! Not another exhaust thread!!

Exhaust restriction for back pressure?

Attached are a couple of pictures of the RH side exhaust on the 3.6L.
Is it normal to have this amount of restriction on a single exhaust tube?
Is this a standard for the 3.6L or do I have manufacturing defect?
The LH tube looks perfect.. Any thoughts
