Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

I received an email from K&N and it was saying;

"K&N does not have a CAI for the V6 Penstar nor is it on our list for development."

Sad...

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

I talked to the local shop and they said they would need to build a CAI with air chamber not to loose low end throttle reponse.

They can build one with aluminum, but I'd like to wait to see what kind of CAI kit Mopar will come up with.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

Apparently, Mopar has made a CAI for Pentastar but first put it on Avenger rally car.

"A new Dodge Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine powers the Dodge Avenger rally car, controlled by paddle shifts integrated into the steering wheel. To enhance performance, the exhaust system and Mopar cold-air intake boost horsepower from 283 bhp to 300 bhp. " from http://chryslercatchall.wordpress.com/category/dodge/

Mine is on the way too. I don't expect big difference but it's better than nothing.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

I agree it is better than nothing.

incidentally I was looking down my air intake tube today and I did see some sand or dirt that must have been carried in by water that breached the weather stripping on the hood.

If this can happen in normal driving I can imagine what will happen when people drive through water. It does not surprise me that the Cold Air Intakes are taking a long time coming with this issue.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

For WK2 with Pentastar, I don't think short intake or flat after-market intake w/o air chamber will help increasing performance because I think it will kill low-end torque. So, what if I change only OEM filter box with open filter but keeping OEM intake? Any thought?

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

It won't hurt low end torque, if anything I would think it would help with throttle response.
