Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

Wondering if anyone has any news on companies putting out a cold air intake kit for the 3.6 Pentastar motor?

I emailed Volant and K&N and neither of them got back to me about possible kits coming in the future.

I am thinking with a Cold Air Intake Kit, Magnaflow Catback and Diablosport Tuner- we should be able to add an easy 30 rwhp and dramaticly increase throttle response over the slower/ less responsive factory settings.

The downfall of the 3.6 Pentastar is the wimpy 3.06 axle gearing. Even the Hemi WK2 has 3.47 axle ratio, the '98 Explorer Sport I had before my WK2 had 4.10's in it and still got decent milage with the 5 Speed Trany.

I know the 3.6 Pentastar would really wake up given some simple tweaks

Granted this engine already has plenty of juice for the average joe.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

I e-mailed Bwoody earlier this week and they said they have CAIs in the works for both engines.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

This engine is going to be used in a lot of Chrysler products, so I'd assume an intake is pretty much a certainty.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

Great news

Thanks.

BTW, if you take a close look at the stock intake piping it is filled with air baffles to make it quite. It must really restrict the air flow, especially since the Throttle Body is in the back of the engine- thats a long way for air to travel.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

No Cold intakes out yet but I do see that K&N has released a high flow air filter for this engine.

Re: Pentastar Cold Air Intake Kits?

In the 2011 grand cherokee accessories catalog there was a Mopar cold air intake kit they offer. Im guessing later it will be release. Therefore I would wait then let dealer install and have the warranty with it too.
