Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

Has anyone come up with anything that has helped the acceleration delay? I have a 2011 V6 GC. I too have this issue. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with when we purchased the car (ie. when the car was built) because I went in and test drove a different V6 and did not notice the delay in the newer models. What do you all think?

Have you had this TSB done? if not and your vehicle was built prior to 30 DEC 2010 have it done and it will fix your issue and a few others.

Since having it done the throttle is more responsive, transmission shifts smoother up and down and the ESC kicks in much quicker. I'm telling you its like driving a different vehicle. It will work on your V6 to...there another thread on it somewhere one here. One person said, that their V6 was like the Hemi in throttle response.

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

According to Milous, you should have BOTH of the latest TSBs for the V6 performed if they apply:

the ESC one from January (18-001-11)
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1800111.pdf

AND

the transmission one from a few days ago (18-012-11) http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1801211.pdf

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

Thanks everyone. I did do a flash update about 2 weeks ago and it didn't fix the sag in my acceleration, but hopefully this new update will (18.012.11).

I'll let you know what happens! Thanks again!

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

OK thanks Cherodude. I asked the dealership if the latest would also include earlier flashes (meaning the jan one as well), and the service guy said yes. So you are saying that you actually need to specify both and that the latest doesn't include earlier updates?

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

I noticed this too when taking a test drive. I thought I was just not working the throttle correctly. Seems like you hit the throttle a little harder to avoid this.

All I know about these TSBs is what I read here (mine is scheduled for Friday). In another thread a member had already done the January ESC TSB (which had made improvements for them) and asked Milous they should bother with the second one. He said 'definitely'.

Here's the link. Milous' answer at Post #10:

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

OK, thank you! Are you having hesitation with your acceleration? I'll let you know if this update clears it up for me.

Funny thing is I was having throttle hestitstion problems through the first 6 weeks or so of ownership, but then they seemed to suddenly reduce by about 80%. I wondered if the normal ESC system adjustments (which occur over the first 50 starts of the vehicle) might have been a factor. That system adjustment is mentioned about midway down this blue text box on the WK2Jeeps site:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm#TIPS

However, I will definitely get both TSBs done to put the problem to rest for good.

Re: Pentastar Throttle delay

This has been a problem with Jeep, Chrysle and Dodge with their damn throttle by wire.
Here is a fix and I'm pretty sure there are others as well. I encounter the same thing with my Magnum R/T and a friend told me about these modules that apparently work great.
