Thank you. Hard to tell from what I read.
I had a 2010 Grand Cherokee Laredo that i traded for this one - very Impressed.
I also had a HEMI in my 2008 Truck - the 2014 Jeep one is so different and quicker on response.

Re: Performance difference between Wk & WK2?

The 2014 will be faster than the 2011-13, due to the 8 speed transmission.
So this may put it as fast if not faster than the WK1's. This being the HEMI.

With the V6 The WK2 was already faster, and now with the new tranny it will even faster.

Do I have a WK or WK2?
Sounds like a WK from what I read here.
My HEMI states 360 hp.

Thanks
You has a WK2 with a ZF high performance 8 speed and electronic rear locking differential.

Splurge a bit on a tank of gas after about 500 miles and try it in sport mode.

It isn't as fast as pretty much any hot compact, but it does move out nicely and smoothly and will keep going to in the 120 mph range where it is limited electronically. The euro guys with Conti's correctly programmed can go over 130, but dunno if anyone has hacked that for USofA yet.

Disclaimer: no 120 range cruising was done outside of totally empty highways in Nevada. It is quite stable at those speeds, unlike earlier GCs which got scary.

I would guess the WK would be faster because it weighs less than the WK2 and has the same engine and tranny.
The WK had a ZF close ratio 8 speed?
Did Jeep know this?

345 Cubes, about the same as some of the '50s hemis.
360Hp@5150
390lbft@4250
Limited to 5800 rpm electronically

Both HP and torque are flagged as "estimated" where dunno if that is Mopar lying on the low side or high side.

Don't recall seeing a torque/hp curve as to whether it is really peaky or pretty broad--where broad tends to win stoplights better than peaky.

I have been into Sport Mode and you are correct - this is a mover and then I gave the paddle shifting a go and it is a scream - it does take away my 21 mpg average.. Who cares this a a great Jeep!!!
