Question about 2014 5.7 magnaflow exhaust

I know the 2013 kit fits but how does it sound when the cylinder cutoff (MDS) kicks in? I have heard ram pickups in my area that sound terrible because of this and I don't want to dump 1400 in the toilet if it drones or gurgles.

This exhaust is really mellow and you really can't tell a big difference when it goes into MDS. Also, don't pay $1400 for this exhaust. Check out Amazon, they will have this for sale in the $900-1000 range fairly often. I paid $975 for mine but others have gotten it for even less.

Re: Question about 2014 5.7 magnaflow exhaust

I had a Dodge Magnum with the 5.7 (MDS) and can say that the Corsa exhaust sounds amazing and zero drone....I unfortunately had the Borla and it droned and sounded ridiculous when the MDS kicked in

Re: Question about 2014 5.7 magnaflow exhaust

If the engine lugs in MDS mode it does get quite loud, not a bad loud, just a very 'boomy' exhaust note. This used to happen a lot when I only had ~1000 miles on the car, I'm just over 3000 miles now and I guess the system has learned not to engage the MDS if it's going to lug the engine and just have to kick all 8 in again, it does still happen though.

Cruising around 45-50 in 7th gear and MDS on there is a slight difference in sound, but not intrusive at all. At the same time I usually get the same gas mileage (according to the computer) at 45-50 in 8th gear with MDS off.

In other words, go for it!

And I only paid $834 on amazon with free shipping, it is up to $1340 now. Just keep checking.
