Re: Ready for some tuning? Look here!

JTS97Z28, et. al, can you confirm that Sport mode improves the shift points on the V6 tranny?

If so, much as I hate to, I may just have to spend the extra money on a Laredo with Selec-Terrain...

Re: Ready for some tuning? Look here!

Amen to that. My mom got a Touareg TDI which has the 8 speed ZF trans. Now that thing can shift, quick and smooth. I understand I'm comparing my American V8 and Chrysler 6 speed to one of the best trans on the market. But, I am dying for this thing to shift a little more aggressively and not so soon. Tranny / Engine Tuner? Anyone, Anyone?

Re: Ready for some tuning? Look here!

How did this thread go from a tune finally being available to a discussion about sport mode?

Confirmed

It's one of the things I enjoy most about the Jeep. It holds the shift to a higher rpm. The vehicle feels much lighter. It gives me a more confident feel of the engines abilitys. The delays you experience in auto are not felt in sport and throttle response is more precise. I just got back from a 4 hr round trip on rt 80 NY - PA and back. Both modes worked superb. Yeah there's a little delay in auto sometimes but sport was like driving a different vehicle.

JTS: if you take my engine and drivetrain and swap it into yours we would have one badass Jeep lol

Re: Ready for some tuning? Look here!

I have a wk2 Hemi Overland and I have driven in the tow-haul/sport mode. It actually does make a difference. Gears hold for longer and forget about seeing the ECO signal. I went beginning to end on manual and found nothing to indicate tow/haul mode can't be on all the time. It automatically sets to default once engine is turned off. But living in NYC where there are as many traffic lights as people, I wouldn't recommend it.
