Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

Actual trip/gas pump math gave me almost 22 pure highway over a 500 mile trip, around town I'm at a pretty consistant 13.5 - 14. I have a 5.7 with about 3500 miles on it.

I test drove a Hemi WK2 with a friend. she put gas in it, reset the MPG calculator and drove it about 25 miles around town and it got about 11-12. never got it up to highway speeds.

Those numbers sound pretty good for the 5.7. Thanks for posting.

It would also greatly help if everyone indicated whether they drive a 4X2 or 4X4 in addition to whether it's a V6 or the HEMI.

13.6 city. Only 600 miles on it. 4x2 limited (5.7) with everything.

My truck is a 4x4 model QTII if it matters. Also I should note that the pure highway mpg is from a vacation trip the week after I picked it up. 500 out and 500 back and was near 22 for both. That number may even get better with a few thousand miles on it and synthentic oil. The city mpg is an average of the last 3 or 4 fill ups. Just food for thought.

Through the first 300 miles I've averaged 16.7 in 75% city driving (with the V6).

Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

For those planning on going offroad in a Hemi equipped WK2 - I advise you fill 'er up before heading out. I averaged just under 6 mpg on a rough patch of desert that required going into 4 wd lo several times. The whole journey averaged 10 mph. In 40 miles, I took the truck from half-tank (ish) to warning light on. Good thing that happened near the end!
