STIX is just really nice
Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

Have just over 100 miles on my 4x4 OL V8... avg is 17 mpg. Not bad. Wasn't expecting stellar fuel efficiency, so I can't complain.

I am impress with the V6. I don't think that you will be missing much with it. It has great passing power once the lazy transmission down shifts. The V6 would make your ZJ's 5.2L seam like a GEO. IMO

I don't have any numbers that wasn't done by the computer but when I had normal gas in it, the computer claimed that I was getting 21-22 MPG. This was more country type of driving. Since it seams like I"m going to have this car for a while, I'll tell you what I get when I finish this tank of E85 and fill it up with normal gas. I do a normal persons monthly driving in about a week or so, so it would be easy for me to track the mileage.

Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

We are seeing closer to 18MPG with the HEMI with Mixed driving... On the Highway at 65MPH we see closer to 22MPG.

Ours is a 2011 Laredo 2WD 5.7L.

Right now we are up and down between 18.2 and 17.8... This is because my wife likes to get on it every now and then.

We are already looking to improve the crap gear ratios and slap in a set of 4.56's... those alone should raise our mixed city/highway closer to 20+MPG... and be a whole lot more fun to drive. I just wish Chrysler new how to do SIMPLE math! If they had then they would have made 4.10's and 4.56's standard options! Apparantly they used the same math choosing gear ratios that they used to land them into bankruptcy.

SPEED SAFE, NICK

You want to explain how higher revs on the highway will result in better fuel mileage???

Exactly! Higher ratios will DECREASE fuel economy on the highway and INCREASE in the city. On the RAMs, the standard ration on the 2009s was 3.5X whereas the option existed for around $375 I think to add 3.92 gears. I added 3.92 gears which actually sees about a 1mpg increase in city and 1 mpg decrease on highway so the overall fuel economy is the same but the low end acceleration is definitely better and it increases towing capability.

Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

I'm averaging 16.4, though that's via EVIC...haven't calculated it myself yet. That's probably a mix of 50/50 city/hwy.

Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

First tank was 13.6. I am on the secind tank with mix driving and i am at 17.8. Hemi 4x4 ql. The key is to lower the car on highway( either sports mode or go over 60..) I think the sweet spot would be around 75 mph but i would not know that.... Not legal..

Re: Real world mileage numbers for V6 and Hemi?

Almost 500 miles with a mix of speed highway speed and city speed (30-65) average has been 20-21 mpg. This is with the V6.
