im not disagreeing there. it will be a fun ride btu I tink it wont be as fast as the srt. you're knocking a tick over a half sec off the srt 0-60 time. the pentastar is good for high 6's low 7's stock. if youre running the same boost as the srt setup them best I can see the v6 doing is 5's even on a aggressive tune.

Now if I source some pistons, could you guys r&d a s/c on the 3.7?

I'd be happy if we can perform as close to the SRT as possible.
The 8 speed will surely make it very fun.

Re: RIPP 3.6 Cherokee Project Another World First

We have been very busy with mock up and functionality over the past two weeks.

This is actually plumbed straight through with the exception of a couple of couplers that need to come is to make it complete. Although this is not a working prototype we have had a running version of this set up to confirm belt routing and belt tension. The bracket is currently being designed and what you see here is the piping mock up. It looks like it will have two options for the air box, the stock one and possible the optional front mounted as you see in this picture.

The larger injectors and MAP sensor are installed and running. We hope to hit the dyno in 10-15 days and report power.

Questions welcome,
RIPPTECH

Looks good, so with the 3.6 GC having the smaller 8spd trans how much HP and Tq do you estimate it will take without trans modification?

Re: RIPP 3.6 Cherokee Project Another World First

I wonder how it would perform with the 2011-2013 GC 5 speed automatics.

We don't project to have any issues with transmission, we seldom do. Centrifugal superchargers don't hit the engine or drive line hard enough to break things and our calibrations are very thorough.

The trans in the 11-13 are still much stronger than the trans in the 07-11 Wrangler and we've kept that running for years. Consider too that the Wrangler guys run much more weight and very tall tires. So again, we do not forecast being outside of the drive-lines power capabilities.

Re: RIPP 3.6 Cherokee Project Another World First

I have no doubt that the 5sp in the 11-13's can hold up. I meant drive-ability and performance compared to the 8sp in the newer models. I drove the 8sp GC as a loaner when getting some warranty work done and I must say that transmission is so smooth and the "in city" drive-ability with that tranny is so much better.

Okay, understood, under most circumstances we can correct drive quality to an extent with tuning and naturally more power. With our Wrangler guys they always brag how much better the drive quality is. We balance throttle input vs speed and vehicle load and get a cleaner "feeling" drive.
