Awesome Anand. Those numbers are really impressive.
Did the base Ripp tune start closer to their advertised 420 whp and your custom tuning got it up to 464 whp? I'm just wondering how you squeezed that extra 10% out of it.
Cheers
Hey John. I am not sure what the base numbers were. I just went for the custom tune after break in period and well thats what I got..
I also had the benefit of going to a tuner in Long Island that was recommended to me from the guys at RIPP. I am actually about to schedule for another tune for the summer. The tuner said we will probably get better numbers because of the summer fuel mixture. I am anxious to see what the numbers would be.
I have to say , I absolutely love it! I always felt the truck needed a bit more power and the RIPP did exactly what I wanted. One thing to note and it just may be a personal preference but I installed one of those pedal commanders and left it in sport mode for a while. The throttle was more responsive but shifts became a bit harsh for around town driving. I turned off and I prefer it that way.
I didn't notice a change in gas mileage either way. Even when I get on it, it seems to still give me the same overall range by the time I get to the pump. Keep in my, I don't stand on the pedal all of the time.
The corsca exhaust is also highly recommended if you want to have a little growl without the bite all of the time. Overall I am pleased with my choices so far....next up, brake upgrade...
Fantastic Posts Anand, impressive numbers well done! Very much enjoying following this thread.
I notice the Corsa System is cat back, are you running any headers or are the factory units flowing well enough?
Seet Jeep man! I have an 11 Ram RT with the RIPP kit on it too and it is amazing, I imagine it's the same on the JGC. The downfall of the Ram was the transmission, I've changed it twice and now I'm gonna change it one more time before selling the truck.
The 8sps are very robust, and tunable. Just watch the RoadKill vs GasMonkey street drag challenge to see how hard these things can launch, even in stock mode, with a little reprogramming. Some of the Audi tuners are playing with them as well... great setup.
