Re: Ripp Supercharging my 2014 3.6 Grand Cherokee

Is it $6,299.95 for just the kit? or kit AND installation?

I've been searching YouTube for videos of the V6 in action but don't see any... According to their site the kit produces 320WHP* and 300ft/lbs* of Torque on stock rims and tires. How does that compare to the 0-60 times of a 5.7 Hemi vs the SRT?

At the time of purchase of my Altitude I was unable to get the V8... The V8 upgrade for the other models is ~$3,000. So here I am in question... What would be more reliable and efficient in the long-run.

1. Purchasing a V8 and doing a conversion
2. Going with the RIPP supercharger

What are your thoughts?

edit: The only vid I found of interest was with a 2012 Wrangler, which uses the same engine? With the supercharger he was getting a 0-60 in 7 seconds. What will this do for our JGC?

I ran into same issue as you as I could not get a v8 on lot in my area so I settled. In terms of reliability, I think it really just depends on the way you treat your vehicle. I think if you drive it like you stole it all the time, you will have issues with both. I think it is a personal choice get the blower if your not happy or just upgrade to a v8. I chose to upgrade as I know the gearing in the v6 is perfect for boost and will react very well. I dont have any data to support this but based on math and what I can predict, the boosted v6 will be quicker than the N/A v8. The kit is $6,299 for just the kit plus install. What I can tell you is that Ripp and the crew really know these vehicle and are not in the business of putting them at risk. When I was there, Ross did at least 2 passes on the dyno testing the tune to see if he can optimize it for all users on his personal SRT.

I am not sure. I would ask Ripp this as I am a tester so mine may be a little different.

I saw it. Looking great. Can't wait to hear the numbers from the dyno and your review.

and to think that my dealer was busting my balls over an HID kit last time I was in for some electrical glitches. I can't imagine what they would say if they saw a blower on my engine, lol

I can't wait to see the install completed and maybe a video doing some pulls?

Ripp will throw a dyno vid up when the install is done, probably this week.

Re: Ripp Supercharging my 2014 3.6 Grand Cherokee

YES! I got my truck back last Thursday but wanted to drive it for a bit before I posted a review. First impression is WOW what a difference from stock form. The power band is clean and is pulls through gears very well. This is how it should have come from the factory. I drive 80+ miles per day and under normal driving you don't even know its there as it is so quiet.(until you step on it of course) the ECU is still learning as I get some hesitation at partial throttle in 3/4 gears pulling on highway but this is normal and will settle in over the next few weeks. Some pics below so you can see mine is the first production kit the made and the piping is very clean.

Yeah it definitely gets a lot of looks now. Also a lot of ricer revs at traffic lights.
