So its got 360....I want 400...any ideas?

Ok...I just got a brand new jeep grand cherokee with the 5.7ltr V8 360hp...what can I do to this thing to crank out 400 that will not break the bank. Has anyone tried to get a little more out of their jeep yet?

I have a Dodge charger with the 5.7L Hemi and with a little work and you can squeek out power fairly cheap. a mild cam with a tune shaved my 1/4 mile time from 14.2 seconds to 13.79 seconds. i have yet to get my car dynoed but your power from a cam will be limitied by the intake and exhaust. I think i got my cam for around $399 and installed it myself. Like i said that is my experience with the 5.7L so i believe you would have similar results with the same motor in a jeep

Since you guys have VVT you would have to buy a VVT Cam for it to work!

A bigger hood and a supercharger

Anything like a cam or forced induction, you're going to have to wait for the aftermarket to create a program via a handheld tuner. You need a tool to tune the engine or else it'll never run right.

Diablo or Superchips will probably have one soon (one could hope). They're both notoriously slow to release their products when it comes to Chrysler products. ChryCo likes to make their codes complicated, so a tuner company would tons of lines of codes to decipher, so I'd be patient. But when the tunes start to come out (probably on the heels of the WK2 SRT8).... it's party time!

For now, get a 3" exhaust setup and have your throttle body ported. I personally think that the woody intake (the only one on the market so far) is too short and just a noise maker. Start with the exhaust and the TB and see where that takes you.

depending on the year diablo has the programmer already for the 2005-2010 5.7L Grand Cherokees.

i believe most of the Chrysler products run the CANBUS II coding i believe and since they cracked the code for one vehicle they were able to use that as a guide for the others. I have the Diablo Predator but if you are planning on doing more performance mods i would recommend the Diablo Trinity
